Leaving Orewa @ 7.15am to ensure we made the 8.15am meeting time at McDonalds Greenlane. In all 18 cars showed up and travelled down the road to Mt Smart Stadium.
Some clear instructions were provided on erecting and securing the Mercedes Club banners and our diverse range of models and years were on display.There was a fantastic turn out of vehicles and people all enjoying the sunny day.
At 11.30am we gathered to head off for Mike’s Inaugural President’s run to Hallertau in Clevedon. Almost immediately the carefully planned route was null and void. The age old navigation method of “Follow that Mercedes” and google maps and we arrived at Hallertau for an excellent selection of food and boutique beers.
Great conversation, great food and a Fantasic day was had by everyone. The day inspired my lovely wife Tracy to offer to cook dinner each night if I would work on the 114 Coupe in the garage !!.
